FAQ
Why should I go to the dentist regularly for a preventive dental checkup?

Some people visit the dentist regularly for preventive dental checkups, and some go only when they have a problem. The first one is called a “Preventive Dental Checkup,” and the second one is called “Crisis Dental Treatment.” During a preventive dental checkup, most patients do not have any symptoms. The dentist will check and diagnose a dental problem in the early stages before it becomes an emergency. This will save time and money and definitely avoid any pain for patients.

While some patients think that by avoiding preventive check-ups they are saving money, this is not true. It often costs more money. Most dental problems start with symptoms when they reach an advanced stage. For example, with tooth decay, initially there is no pain and it can be treated with a simple tooth filling. In an advanced stage, when pain starts, this decay has reached the nerve roots. Now the treatment required is Root Canal Treatment followed by a Tooth Crown or Cap. Sometimes this requires Post & Core, Root Canal Treatment, and a Crown. In the very advanced stage of disease, we can’t even save a tooth and need tooth extraction followed by a dental implant.

Is it okay to only brush my teeth and skip flossing?

The main issue is that while brushing your teeth removes plaque, it can leave behind bacteria that causes cavities and gum disease, which can’t be removed by brushing. Flossing removes this bacteria from in between the teeth where a toothbrush can’t reach.

Some people argue that if you brush your teeth properly, then you don’t need to floss. However, others say that you should always floss after brushing to ensure that all of the bacteria is removed from your mouth. If dental plaque continues to remain on tooth surfaces, plaque will harden up and turn into dental tartar that can be removed only by the dentist.

The best thing to do is to talk with your dentist about what they recommend for you personally and what they think would be best for your oral health.

Ask Dr. Renu Chaudhary how to do proper tooth brushing and dental flossing, and you will feel the difference during your daily life and during your next preventive dental visit.

How can I get my kids to brush their teeth?

Make it fun for the kids! Kids do what parents do. If they see you brushing and practicing dental hygiene, they will follow you. All children should start brushing after their first birthday when their teeth start erupting.

Studies and our dental practice show that children who started regular dental checkups at an early stage, dental hygiene explained by the dentist, have better oral hygiene.
Dr. Renu Dental Clinic is a kid-friendly clinic where we provide all kinds of preventive dental care for kids, including fluoride treatment, pit and fissure sealant, space maintainers, and all kinds of other dental treatments.

How can I prevent tooth decay?

Tooth cavities are preventable if we take care of our oral hygiene and avoid sugary products like candies, crackers, and chips.

Always brush your teeth for the proper duration. We advise you to brush for 30 seconds in each quadrant. The total brushing time is 2 minutes. It is advisable to brush with soft brushes. For proper care, flossing is advisable at least once a day. Floss will help in removing bacteria where brush can’t reach.
High sugar content in foods like candies, sticky chocolates, crackers, and chips helps bacteria grow in the mouth. These foods stick to your teeth and provide food for bacteria and make a favorable environment for bacteria.

Good oral hygiene is the most important factor in avoiding tooth cavities. We advise you to brush your teeth after every meal with sticky food. And do not forget your preventive dental checkup at Dr. Renu Dental Clinic or your dentist to diagnose tooth cavities early and treat them. Good dental habits and good oral hygiene make your dental visit cavity-free.

Why does my dentist advise dental X-rays?

X-rays are required to see teeth from inside and surroundings that a dentist can’t see by dental examination alone. For example, dental X-rays are also part of the dental examination if indicated to diagnose some diseases, for example.
> small decay between teeth, as well as decay beneath old tooth restorations
> Is there any infection in the jaw bone

> Any type of periodontal (gum) disease
> Any abscesses or cysts in bone or soft tissue

> Any abnormalities in the development of the teeth or jaw
> Tumors of various types
Through dental X-rays, the dentist can diagnose disease at an early stage, which ultimately can save patients time, money, and unnecessary discomfort. Dr. Renu Dental Clinic has the most up-to-date RVG (X-ray) machines, which allow us to take digital x-rays and make treatment plans.

Why is fluoride important to dental health?

Fluoride is a mineral that is present in many foods and water. In the event that drinking water does not have the proper amount of fluoride, then supplements are required. Some foods, like tea, fish, spinach, and milk, have some fluoride.

Anyone at any age who is not taking proper fluoride is at a high risk of tooth decay or dental decay. Fluoride is very important for dental health. It makes tooth enamel resistant to acid, which helps to prevent tooth decay.
Fluoride treatment is a treatment modality that we advise for all ages, in which we apply fluoride application on teeth that will help in preventing tooth decay. I knocked out a tooth. How to save it?

>Rinse the teeth with normal water without scrubbing and remove dirt and debris
.
>Place the tooth under your tongue after cleaning or put the tooth in cold milk
.
>Do not try to replace the tooth in the socket by yourself.

What causes morning bad breath or halitosis?

Saliva is a natural mouthwash. When people sleep, saliva production decreases in the mouth. During the night, while saliva production is lower, bacteria continue to break down food particles that produce sulfur compounds, causing bad breath or halitosis. During the day, saliva washes away bacteria and food particles.

Sometimes this might be a sign of serious illness, so we advise you to consult your dentist or visit Dr. Renu Dental Clinic-Best Dental Clinic and consult Dr. Renu Chaudhary-Best dentist in Jaipur.
